Lara Rabinowitz, Textiles, Art & Design

I explore how everyday objects make us who we are. My background in textile design, fine arts, and anthropology informs my work.

I am a textile designer and visual artist working across fiber, material innovation, and technology-driven design. With a background in applied print, woven, and knit design and formal studio-based training, I bring a concept-driven approach that bridges creative and applied work.

My design practice focuses on developing thoughtful textiles through repeat design, color

exploration, and material research. I bring experience in sourcing, approvals, archiving, and sustainable practices, supported by clear communication, project coordination, and organized workflows. Teaching, mentoring, and cross-disciplinary collaboration are central to my work.

In the studio, I quilt, weave, and sculpt pieces that explore touch, form, and the relationship between textiles and the body. My work is guided by curiosity about how objects and materials shape daily life, hold memory, and connect people to place and environment. These ideas inform everything I do as a designer and artist, grounding my work in material awareness and lived experience.
